Mest singer free of homicide charges

Description: Hello, I'm Rebecca Field with a UPI entertainment update. Punk rock singer Anthony Lovato is free of charges after a recent stabbing incident. Prosecutors say there's insufficient evidence to try the former Mest singer in the fatal stabbing of a man in Southern California. They say there's no reason to believe this wasn't done in self-defense. Police say Lovato and the man were arguing before police arrived at the scene and found the victim stabbed. He died later at the hospital. Two star athletes have welcomed twin girls. People magazine reports soccer player Mia Hamm and her husband Nomar Garciaparra of the Los Angeles Dodgers greeted the healthy babies on Wednesday. Hamm is now retired but played soccer for the U.S. women's team for 18 years. She and the Dodgers player met in 1998 and married in 2003. Singer Jennifer Lopez is celebrating the release of her first Spanish-language album. The new CD "Como Ama Una Mujer" which translates in English to "How a Woman Loves" hit stores Tuesday. At her launch party that night, Lopez appeared on stage to perform for friends and family in New York. Her husband Marc Anthony, who co-produced the album, reportedly joined her on-stage for a romantic duet. Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas is facing charges for driving under the influence. Police say he was arrested Tuesday in Southern California when he was in a minor car accident. When authorities arrived at the scene, they determined he was under the influence of some substance. People magazine reports in addition to a DUI, he'll face charges of possession of marijuana, and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. The rock group Modest Mouse has grabbed the number one spot on the Billboard 200. Their album " We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank" is their first release to make it to the top of the chart. Joss Stone's new album "Introducing Joss Stone" is number 3 this week. And former "American Idol" contestant Elliot Yamin's self titled album debuted at the third spot.
